The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) oversees the Medicare program and sponsors this survey. CMS is part of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS). CMS contracted NORC at the University of Chicago (NORC) to conduct the MCBS. NORC engages in sampling, data collection, data processing, and data delivery as part of conducting the MCBS.

Susan Schechter is a Senior Fellow in the Health Care Research department and the Project Director for the Medicare Current Beneficiary Survey at NORC at the University of Chicago. After a 25 year career in survey research at various federal agencies, Susan Schechter joined NORC, bringing her broad expertise and deep knowledge of survey research and statistical policy.

Ella Kemp is a Field Project Manager for the Medicare Current Beneficiary Survey and a Regional Manager for the Field Operations department at NORC at the University of Chicago. At NORC since 1993, Ella is responsible for management of field interviewers in the east part of the United States.
